Sellers Guarantee is a feature that allows a seller to guarantee that the item they
have listed will be supplied as described. It gives buyers piece of mind when making
an online purchase and gives sellers the opportunity to show prospective buyers the
commitment they have to fulfilling their responsibilities. The Sellers Guarantee
can be tailored to the specifications of the seller, from giving buyers partial
cover for their purchase price to offering total cover for sale price and any additional
transaction related costs.
How a Sellers Guarantee works
When a seller offers a Sellers Guarantee on an item, a portion of their free2auction account balance is set aside to cover the guarantee. By entering the Sellers Guarantee the seller has agreed that in the event a free2auction investigation finds the seller has not fulfilled their responsibilities, this value may be deducted from their account and refunded to the buyer.
Where to find a listings Sellers Guarantee
When viewing a listing that has a Sellers Guarantee an additional box of information will be displayed beneath the item details and before the sellers description of the item. This box contains the entire Sellers Guarantee, any additional information outside of this box is not considered part of the free2auction monitored Sellers Guarantee.
When browsing and searching items, you will see a golden star, or stars, next to results that offer a Sellers Guarantee.
What do the stars mean?
A listing that includes a Sellers Guarantee may have one to three stars next to the title in browse results and in the Sellers Guarantee box of the item listing. The number of stars represents the level of cover the item has in relation to its current price. If the Sellers Guarantee covers less than 50% of the price there will be one star, if more than 50% there will be two stars, if 100% or more of the current price is covered there will be three stars. Listings that offer a Sellers Guarantee less than 0.75c do not show any stars.
