What is the free2auction TAM system
The Total Auction Management (TAM) system has been developed
to offer sellers a central system for
managing listings on multiple sites,
and handle sales from many sources. Sellers may use the system to
efficiently manage large numbers of
products with powerful bulk edit, template, and
export tools, or may extend the use of TAM to handle their
entire sales system including customers, orders, stock
levels, accounting, and more.
The TAM system will continue to be developed with features
being added and improved to most effectively service
the needs of online sellers. The free2auction
webmaster appreciates and considers all comments on
how the TAM system can better serve you as a seller,
he may be contacted here,
and the free2auction customer
service team are available to help you get the most
from the TAM system.
Why use the Total Auction Management system
The TAM system is a powerful tool for online sellers,
and may be configured to be used in many different ways.
Some of the main reasons for choosing to work with the
TAM system are outlined below:
Item Templates: The TAM system
offers a powerful item template system that allows you to group generic values and formats for similar
items into a template tree. This tree may include a generic base template that all items adhere to and
then child templates that handle different levels of product lines. The templates handle all areas
of your listings including pricing and feature settings, eBay and free2auction listing settings,
and a powerful description system that allows you to pass on sections within a description template to child
items and templates. All of these settings update automatically as the parent templates are updated.

Import and Export
Tools including eBay Turbolister exports:
Transferring data between external management software
and listing items on multiple sites is made easy with
TAM import and export tools, including eBay Turbolister
and Yahoo! Bulk Loader exports that allow you to create
data, ready to upload to many of the available eBay and
Yahoo! auction sites, directly from your TAM product listings,
an activity that is often an administration nightmare
for sellers. help
Stock and Order
Management: You can
manage your entire business from within the TAM system,
keeping track of stock, studying selling statistics,
managing dispatches and accounts. help
Bulk Management of Activities:
The TAM system has been created with efficiency in mind, and most administrative activities can be handled in
bulk, such as updates of tam item settings and descriptions, processing of payments and of shipments, and the
importing and exporting of data.
Automated Interaction
with Supported Sites:
Tools are constantly being developed to help automate
many of the administration tasks required of sellers,
examples include automatically listing items to free2auction
and detection of items due to be listed on eBay, automatically
entering new bidders as tam customers and new auction
wins as orders.
Security Levels:
Employees and business
partners who require access to your TAM system may open
free2auction accounts and be given security levels
set by you to perform only the tasks you permit them.
Examples include giving access to ship orders without
being able to edit them for warehouse staff, or access
to view customer details and history, and to enter quotes
and orders for sales staff.
How to activate the TAM system
You may configure your account to use TAM in one of
two ways, the most common is to activate TAM for your
own free2auction account, do this by going to
your options page and selecting to activate TAM on your
account. The second configuration is to request to manage
TAM for another free2auction member, that member
must first configure you under a security level within
their TAM system, once they have done this you may request
tam access for that member from your options page. You
may only work within your own or one other free2auction
members TAM system at one time, however if you access
multiple TAM accounts you may swap between them from
your options page at any time.
Once you have activated TAM a third row of buttons appear
in your free2auction title bar, these buttons
link to the tam user configurable pages and the tam
activities page where you can perform various TAM actions
and configure TAM related settings.
Setting up TAM security level access for other members
If you have activated the TAM system for your account,
you may configure security levels and add users to those
levels, all TAM activities have a list of security levels
which may perform them.
The first step to setting up security levels is to go
to your TAM activities page and choose to manage security
levels and users. In this page you may create new security
levels, and then add and remove users from these security
levels. Once a user is added to a security level they
will be able to request access to your TAM system and
perform the actions that their security level is permitted
to perform.
To specify which activities each security level may
perform enter the manage security level access link
from your TAM activities page. You will be presented
with a list of the TAM activities available, enter a
comma delimited list of which security levels may perform
each activity.
