After an auction ends or a store purchase is made it is common for the buyer and seller to negotiate the shipping, tracking and payment
details of the transaction. To further protect both parties the free2auction shipping and tracking system allows the seller to enter an offer to the buyer,
the buyer can choose to accept this offer, once it is accepted it cannot be changed and is considered binding to both parties.
Why use the shipping and tracking system
This system allows the buyer and seller to have a hard record of what has been agreed upon before payment is made, and in the event of any
dispute free2auction has a true record of this agreement. Additional notes may also be made by either party to further detail the transaction
after the initial offer has been accepted.
If either party does not follow through with the agreement, free2auction may be contacted and an investigation will be
opened. Both parties will be contacted for more information and if available track and trace numbers can be checked. In the
event of a serious breach, penalties or suspension may be enforced, negative feedback may be removed, and aid in fraud investigations may be given.
Can buyers demand sellers enter an offer
Unless the seller states in their listing description or amendments that they will use the free2auction tracking system, a buyer may not
use it as a condition for their purchase, it may be asked for but will not be considered grounds to not follow through
with a purchase. A buyer may also not require a seller to enter a shipping and tracking offer that is outside of what was in the description or
amendments for the item prior to the purchase, but a buyer does have grounds to request that the seller enters an offer that
is within the bounds of the item description.
What information should be entered
When entering a shipping and tracking offer try to cover
all important details as only the initial offer is considered
binding, although additional notes from both parties will be
considered in the event of a dispute. Information that
should be entered is how fast payment must be made by
the buyer for the shipping and tracking offer to be valid,
the method of payment, whether a tracking number will
be given, who is responsible for shipping losses, and any additional notes regarding the payment
and shipping of the item including the agreed upon shipping
address.
Must I use a Shipping and Tracking offer
If all the information regarding payment methods and shipping is clearly entered in a listings description and the details have not been re-negotiated between buyer and seller then an offer is not needed. In the event of an investigation free2auction will consider information in the item description as being the agreed upon contract if no shipping and tracking offer has been entered.
Additional notes
After a shipping and tracking offer has been entered the related tracking link in
the selling and bidding tables changes from a light
blue to a dark blue. If you are the seller of a multiple quantity auction with multiple winners,
only after all winners have had a tracking offer entered does the multiple link in the auctions sold table
change color.
You may enter a default shipping and tracking offer when listing an item, this offer will
automatically be saved when the item is purchased and then may be accepted by the buyer or
adjusted by the seller.
